Tasmania
Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania has been caring for Tasmania’s stray, lost and abandoned dogs since 1950 and today has facilities in Hobart, Burnie, Devonport and Launceston.
Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania provides care to more than 3,500 dogs in need each year. We reunite lost dogs with their owners, run foster care and education programs, provide veterinary treatment and re-home more than 1,000 dogs annually.
We are here to save dogs’ lives, not to end them. Our goal is to re-home all healthy dogs. There is no time limit placed on dogs waiting to be adopted and there is no such thing as ‘death row’ here.
All dogs and puppies are microchipped, de-sexed, health checked, vaccinated and temperament-tested prior to adoption. When you adopt a dog from the Dogs’ Home, you not only give this dog a second chance but you also gain a life-long friend.
